BAmboozled

Bamboozle: to fool or cheat (someone). You're son has just gotten his license and you promised him if he had 4.0 gpa he could get a car the day he gets his license. Well he's done it and now you have to own up to it. You tell him that you will go out and buy a car you can afford and bring it home. After dinner you will unveil it. It's a shame your son doesn't know about your gambling problem. So there is no car, there is only the lie you've been keeping up for some time now. So instead of buying him a car, you have to lie again, you have to keep up this charade knowing that the end is inevitable. Your son has been bamboozled.

You finally got your license. Today's the day you've been dreading, now your dad has to buy you a car. You thought you'd be excited, you're getting your first car!! But you feel guilt. You don't deserve anything. You don't deserve the father you've been blessed with, or a car. You've barely passed every class on your way to graduation. Your dad thinks your gpa is a 4.0, in reality its barely half of that. You've been editing your grades to temporarily look great in order to keep him happy. He's been struggling since your mother passed away. All he does is work come home cook dinner, leave for his second job, then repeat the same thing the next day. You had one job, focus on school, and you couldn't even do that right. Now he has nothing to smile for. In an excited tone he congrats you on getting your license and promises a car after dinner. How are you going to tell him you've been lying. Your dad has been bamboozled.
